If you get tired of cooking or just feel like eating out, there are many places to get great food here on the island. You can eat at the local resorts, or at any number of local establishments. Here are just a few… There are many more great places not listed here.
Splash Bar & Grill – Splash is located at Hideaways Resort and is a great place to get a meal. Chat ‘n Chill – Spend a day at the Chat ‘n Chill located across from Paradise Found on Stocking Island (you can see it across the harbor to the right from the front deck). Big D’s – If you want a great conch salad, or conch fritters, visit Big D’s. Fish Fry – Many of the larger islands in the Bahamas have their own “Fish Fry’s”. These are local places with a variety of small eating and drinking establishments. Visit “Shirley’s” for some great home cooking. Visit Sam’s shack for fresh conch salad, and “Wonderation” for cocktails and a game of pool. Peace and Plenty – The Peace and Plenty hotel and restaurant is located in downtown George Town. This building has been here since the 1800’s and has an interesting history. Santana’s Grill – Grab lunch where Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom (from Pirates of the Caribbean) hung out while they were filming the first Pirates of the Caribbean for Disney. Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell also like to visit Santana’s for lunch or drink when they are on the island. Bring a baseball cap to leave there if you plan on being a return guest. Tropic Breeze – A small island kitchen serving great food, like Lobster Poppers, Jerk Wings, and surf (lobster) and turf burgers. |
Relax and swim on the beaches of Exuma at the nearby secluded beach, Jolly Hall, or Tropic of Cancer Beach. There are beaches everywhere, so explore and let us know where your favorite beach was found.
Secluded Nearby Beach – Walk north along the trail to the seashore for less than ¼ mile to the secluded beach near Paradise Found. Sunbathe or sit in the natural rock bench located on this crescent beach. Enjoy the natural beauty and privacy this beach provides. Flip Flop Beach – As you gaze at the beautiful view of Elizabeth Harbor from the deck at Paradise Found, you will see a few beaches across the harbor on Stocking Island. Flip Flop beach is one of our favorites and is a favorite of the boaters. Jolly Hall Beach – Walk or take a short drive to Jolly Hall. Jolly Hall is one of the most popular and relaxing beaches around. Tropic of Cancer Beach – If you have elected to rent a car during your stay in Exuma, Tropic of Cancer Beach is a great place to spend a day. It is located on Little Exuma, and is about a 30 minute drive south from Paradise Found. Starfish Beach – Starfish beach is located near the north end of Stocking Island, north of the beacon, and almost directly across from Paradise Found. Old Plantation House - There are many historical sites from the 1700's and 1800's when the British loyalists from the newly independent colonies settled on the island. Tours - There are a variety of water tour companies that will take you to various sites including the famous swimming pigs. Paddle Board or Kayak Out Front
